Hit & Run Highlanders Youth Baseball is a NYS Non-Profit Corporation.  The former Salt Point Highlanders travel baseball team based out of Poughkeepsie became the first baseball team to join Hit & Run Sports. The Highlanders were started in 2007 as a 10u team by former owner of Hit & Run Sports, Richard Brideau. Coach Brideau started the Salt Point Highlanders team to give young players a chance to play high level baseball competition locally, regionally, and nationally. The Organization has proved to be a huge success winning and challenging for titles in numerous travel league seasons and tournaments including twice winning the prestigious Baseball Heaven Tri-State Championships in Long Island, Diamond Nation in NJ and placed 2nd out of a field of 104 teams in Cooperstown. The Highlanders will emphasize the overall development of athletes, not just baseball and softball players. A major component of our training will be “Athleticism” thru strength and conditioning training of all our athletes. The program has grown in 2012 to 10 teams and still growing! We are the largest program of this kind in the Hudson Valley!

Our program is designed to give players the chance to train and play competitive baseball. The teams compete locally in the NYEB travel league and regionally in tournaments. Our 15u and up program is set up to "Showcase" players by participating in several high exposure tournaments both regionally and nationally. Our goal is develop players to move on to the next level of play whether that is a young player trying to make his Little League all star team, a middle school player, a high school player trying to make his varsity team, a player who desires to play baseball in college or even a player who wants to be a professional.
